What We Do
We help adults in the United States find local marijuana businesses, national marijuana news, global marijuana communities, and marijuana products across the Internet.
To elevate mainstream public discourse over legalized marijuana in the United States. We strive to do this by:
⊕ Empowering local marijuana businesses and professionals who work in the marijuana industry with tools to attract customers;
⊕ Enabling individuals with info about marijuana businesses, professionals & products and updates on national & local news;
⊕ Giving marijuana enthusiasts ways to discuss topics, ask & answer questions, create & join groups, and engage each other.
Our beliefs are at the core of why we’re building Cannabistro. Chances are, if you’re reading this, you share some of these beliefs.
⊕ We believe that adults should be allowed to legally purchase and consume marijuana — and that marijuana will be legalized for a majority of adults living in the U.S. by 2020.
⊕ We believe that legalizing marijuana is a national issue with local roots. It’s influence will touch our local communities, economies and cultures.
⊕ We believe in the importance and power of thoughtful discussion and beautiful design — and that the public discourse around marijuana deserves both.
We’ve reached an inflection point. Most Americans now support legalization of marijuana.
Marijuana is now legal or decriminalized to some degree in 27 states & Washington, D.C.
It’s a generational thing. Most Millennials support marijuana legalization. Now most Gen Xers and Boomers do too.
Cannabistro was borne in the summer of 2015 from love of consuming marijuana, interest in how our views on marijuana are evolving, and belief that industry and cultural acceptance are not too far from being pervasive across the United States.
We’re friends who met while studying at a small liberal arts school in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on the Charles River.
We’re a small but growing group of like-minded individuals. We all currently have day jobs — from high-tech marketing to solar physics — but we work on Cannabistro because we’re passionate about the space.
But our story isn’t over.
If you’re interested in what we’re doing and would like to help, we’d love to hear from you. We’re currently looking for developers, writers, editors, researchers, designers, and all-around good people.
If you’re an investor who thinks we’re on to something, we’d be happy to talk too. We know there’s a lot we could do with the right partners and resources.
